What Global Sources actually is
Global Sources is a B2B company founded in 1971 by Merle A. Hinrich and headquartered in Hong Kong. Since 2018 it has been owned by Clarion Events, a Blackstone-backed group (Wikipedia). It began as a print sourcing-magazine publisher; today it runs three pillars: an online marketplace, sector magazines/apps, and above all trade shows — including Global Sources Electronics, billed as the world's largest electronic-product sourcing fair.
The philosophy differs from an open marketplace like Alibaba: Global Sources vets and curates its exhibitors and concentrates the floor on high-demand, export-ready products. You see less of "everything," but what you see is better qualified.

Method on the floor
A tighter show is no excuse for skipping method. Across four days of a phase you'll see hundreds of products; without capture discipline, you go home with 600 unusable photos.
- Capture every product in < 15 s: photo + quoted price + MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) + supplier name. Log it right there, not "tonight at the hotel."
